Sapphire HD 7950 FleX Edition

SapphireBattlefield 3

Battlefield 3 is pretty much “the” game right now. Its graphics are extremely impressive and it is capable of bringing most video cards to a crawl.
We ran through the beginning of the second mission “Operation Swordbreaker”, recording the fps with FRAPS.

On a single monitor, the 7950 was able to breeze through our test with an average of 77 fps and never dropping below 55.
Even with a single card pushing 3 monitors, the 7950 could still muster an average of 34 and minimum of 25. Keep in mind this is with every setting maxed.

DiRT 3

DiRT 3 is another great benchmark, with objects flying by at high speeds, great physics, and amazing graphics, it is more than capable of crushing modern cards with settings maxed.

On the left we have the 7950 on just a single monitor. It ran through flawlessly without even a hint of lag, never dropping below 65 fps and averaging 78.
In Eyefinity, things get quite a bit trickier. But even at this massive resolution the single card was able to hold an average of 36 and never dropped below about 30 fps.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Skyrim isn’t as heavily GPU dependent as some other games but can still provide some insight on the capabilities of this card.
Our test consisted of running up the steps to Whiterun castle and then looking back over the city. This is often seen as the most demanding area of the game.

 Sapphire 7950 Flex

The 7950 averaged 58 fps with a minimum of 40. Keep in mind that this is a worst case scenario and that fps will stay above 60 for most of the game.
We ran into issues running Eyefinity, though it seems to be the fault of the game, not the card.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R

Stalker: Call of Pripyat is an older game but can give us a good idea of DirectX 10 performance on this card.

 Sapphire 7950 Flex

As we can expect from this older game and a new card, it blew it away. All but the last test averaged well over 100 fps, though minimums did drop surprisingly low in a few cases.
