Under the hood
Removing the cooler is a very simple task and really shows the quality in which a card is made. Here we see an ample and effective amount of thermal paste applied to the chip. We also get a small glimpse of our capacitors and their heatsinks.
Taking a closer look at the RAM chips shows we have 4x 256MB modules made by Elpidia (W1032BBBG). These chips are rated up to 5Gbps and are rated at 1.5v +- 0.045V. We also note that its got 16k refresh cycles over 32ms.
Our PWM controller is a CHiL CHL8228G with Dual loop 6+2 Multiphase controller.
Looking at the cooler itself shows its actual size. This 3-copper pipe cooler is quite large compared to other heat sinks I’ve seen which should convert to awesome cooling. The fins run almost the entire length of the housing! Nice…
