A Closer Look
The Sparkle GTS450 has a somewhat plain look about it. No fancy plastic box thing covering the whole thing, just a motherboard with a big heatsink, and an even bigger fan making it a dual slotter. The fan enclosure is styled mind you, so it’s at least nice to look at. But, what else can we expect from a budget card?
The Sparkle GTS450 contains two DVI ports and 1 mini-HDMI port. The Sparkle comes with a mini-HDMI-HDMI cable so you don’t have to worry about ordering a new cable.

Testing
Testing a graphics card is usually pretty simple, and unlike most computer components, the GPU can be easily tested in a real world situation, such as gaming. So, first we will do the standard slew of synthetic benchmarks, then we get to the games.
Test Rig
Motherboard | Gigabyte 890gpa-ud3h |
CPU: | AMD Phenom II x6 1075T 3.0GHz |
Heatsink | AeroFlow FX 120 |
Power Supply | Cooler Master Silent Pro M 600W |
RAM | 4GB OCZ Platinum 1600 |
Case | NZXT Panzerbox |
GPU | Sparkle Nvidia GTS450 1024MB |
Hard drive | 1TB Western Digital Black |
This setup was chosen at random and not for optimization.
Those are some pretty impressive specs! I have never tried a Sparkle video card before, but I’ve heard great things about them recently so I might consider it in a couple months.
