PassMark PerformanceTest 7.0:
PerformanceTest is a benchmarking suite that tests all of the components of a computer and then gives an aggregate score that is supposed to represent how well your computer performs. It is similar to other benchmarking suites like PCMark Vantage.

We see that the system gets a score of 2218.1, but this is only a partial score. The reason for this is because the Aspeed AT2150 is a reduced functionality display device. It doesn’t contain the necessary components to run the 3D benchmarking portion. We can still look at the CPU and memory portion of the benchmark. We can see that the CPU scores a composite average of 6363.2. This is quite good. The RAM also does quite well, scoring 3906.3 in the Memory Mark portion.
SiSoft Sandra:
SiSoft Sanda is a benchmark that we use pretty frequently in the labs. It offers a pretty comprehensive suite of benchmarks for testing you machine.

Processor Arithmetic | Cryptography |
The E3-1220 manages to raise some eyebrows and reminds us that it is a working class server CPU. The processor arithmetic scores are very impressive. In the cryptography benchmark we see the chip flex its AES muscle again. It does still manage to come up short against some of the other Sandy Bridge desktop chips that also have AES instructions.

Processor Multi-Media | Power Management |
Even though the primary purpose of servers usually isn’t processing multi-media, this one still handles it in stride. The power management shows that the chip doesn’t use more power than other chips like it.

Multi-Core Efficiency |
The inter-core bandwidth on the E3-1220 isn’t as high as the previous generation of i7s, but it does manage to beat it in the inter-core latency.
