 With the enclosure opened we can see the SATA connection w/ power. There isn’t too much to the circuit board.   Here is another angle of the internal circuit board of the Neutrino U3+

The AKiTiO Neutrino U3+ like other drive enclosures on the market today very simple with its design and execution of an external storage enclosure. This simple design is effective to keep the component that could fail to a minimum. Since the Neutrino U3+ comes with multiple I/O options we expected to see more circuitry to control/manage the data to and from the drive.

Hard drive installation.

Mounting the HD to the enclosure is slightly unique with two screws to the bottom of the drive and two along the side of the drive.   From this view you can see the mounting screw points on the side and bottom of the drive.
 Close up look at the mounting screw hole for the side of the drive.  Once the drives is mounted and slid into the enclosure, the enclosure is sealed with four screws which are hidden by four rubber feet which hide the screws.

The mounting of the hard drive to the enclosure is just as simple as the rest of the enclosure.  What is slightly different is fact the mounting screws are not just all on the bottom or all along the sides, rather two of the mounting screws are on the side of the enclosure and two are on the bottom.  Once the hard disk is slid into the enclosure and four screws are screwed in to secure the drive there are four rubber feet stickers which are to be placed onto the four screws. These rubber feet will more than likely won’t last long though. We would like to see some sort of rubber footing that traverses the enclosure, but maybe in the next release.
