A Closer Look:

Here we see the cable as it was packaged. On a cosmetic note, the cable is rather nice looking, simple yet functional.

On the SATA end of the cable we have a nice and firm SATA power and data clip. The clip “pops” nicely when attached to a drive and forms a good secure connection. I would definitely still hold the drive as it is plugged in, however the connector is secure enough to keep the drive plugged in properly while in use.

There isn’t really all that much to speak on at the USB 3.0 side of the cable.

The bottom line: this device is deadly simple, SATA connectors on one end – USB 3.0 on the other. Talking about the style or design of a device like this is pretty much useless, to that end lets see our video review.

  1. Hello,

I have a few questions about the Diablotek SSD to USB3.0 SATA Adaptor.

1.) “promises SSD speeds across a single USB 3.0 port” I don’t under stand this. If I plug my HDD into this will it speed it up making it as fast as a OCZ Revo Drive?

2.) Can I use this to boot my computer from? Like lets say I take the drive out of my laptop, can I run my Laptop on my desktop? Will it run faster since it has SSD speeds?

I hope you can respond. I’m desperate to get my computers running faster for under $20.
