The installation of Convoy 425XL is pretty straight forward, simply install each of the drives in the individual containers, then install the Convoy in the case as you would a standard optical drive. Data and power connections couldn’t be simpler than the single MOLEX connector and SATA cable. The dip switches located at the rear of the device should be configured before installation into the drive bay and the user manual explains each of these settings so as to avoid confusion.
|The installation of a 2.5″ SATA drive, you can simply slide the drive in the side.||All hard drives are then mounted via four screws to the bottom of the drive cartridge with supplied screws.|
The installation of the SATA drives was once again very easy and didn’t take too long to do. The only complication we had was keep track of all the small screws.
The back plane of the Convoy 425XL is a very simple design and doesn’t take up much room of the back-end of enclosure, which is very impressive considering that prior to this a PCI card the size of today’s video cards was required to control even two drives.
