Observations
I am personally not a big fan of the tech specs other than their use in validation of what a device is supposed to support. In this case the most important device in the kit is the HSG260-WTG2 gateway. As I mentioned earlier it supports 802.11n and is backward compatible with G and B. Using N the device is capable of up to 300Mbps transmission rates. This will of course be affected by range and the receiver in the connected device.
I found that the included QIG and Users manual were not necessary aside from providing the default login information and some basic other quick bits. Your less advanced users will find them helpful in utilizing the HSG260 during setup.
After initial setup the system will restart to complete and confirm configuration. The exit and restart process takes about 1.5 minutes. After restart you can enter into the device and configure a surprising number of details in the menus. I will not cover the amount of configuration that can be done but suffice to say that you have an amazing amount of control over your network with this device. The HSG260-WTG2 is every bit an enterprise class device that allows for as much or as little control as you like.
Within the menus you can control each of the 4 lan ports, setup service zones, define the channel and transmission methods, privilages, DMZ, Proxy Servers, DDNS, and extensive firewall configurations. Needless to say for those technically inclined the HSG260-WTG2 becomes the center of your networking universe and offers excellent controls.
