Conclusion:
Even though 6GB of RAM many not be necessary for most people, you’re still future proofing. Hardcore users will of course find a use for 6GB and probably more, but if you want to get the most from your i7, you’ll be running triple channel. It’s important to note that unless you’re overclocking your 920 (there’s really no reason why you shouldn’t) it’s going to be a bottleneck for this RAM. This is really the best option. DDR3 prices have also dropped significantly since their release. You can easily find this kit for under $200, which should be within the budget of an enthusiast rig, which is what Crucial is targeting. The Ballistix Tracer is priced competitively with other DDR3 kits of the same spec, but you’ll be getting more for your money because of the neat light show it puts on. With tight timings and a nice feature set, this is an awesome product. It will definitely catch people’s attention.
