AMD FX-8370 Vishera Review

Installation

The installation was of easy, and the processor looks snug and fit. The motherboard used to test the processor is the MSI 970 Gaming in AM3+ socket.

Cooling Solution

During the installation we were deciding if it would be beneficial to use liquid cooling for a build such as this. In the end we chose to go with air-based CPU cooler from CoolerMaster. The Hyper 212EVO has a 120mm PWM Fan and has a vast socket compatibility which makes it a perfect testing cooler. It is based on a Sleeve bearing and is rated for 600 to 2000 RPM (+/- 10%). The Heatsink is aluminum and is 116mm x 51mm x 159mm, with a weight of 589.67 grams.
This cooler is a fairly decent solution for anything between casual usage of office and photoshop to hardcore gaming sessions of Farcry, Fallout or Witcher. The Cooler kept the CPU temps between 50C and 53C, during heavy gaming sessions and between 30 and 35 during idle/casual usage. Both the performance and the price won’t disappoint you!
