Summary and Conclusion:
The ASRock Fatal1ty Z68 Professional board coupled with the Intel Core i5 2500k is an outstanding combo providing rock solid stability along with some really high performance. I was astounded at how well this combo held its own against the likes of some of the 6 and 8 core competitors. The biggest drawback is the price coming in at around $330, this board isn’t for everybody; this board is for someone who wants high performance, stability, and an easy overclock. My only concern is the Xfast USB software, in theory it works to utilize under used CPU cycles to pour more resources into read/write of thumb drives, this can lead to instability and possible hardware failures so while the board itself is solid it may be given a weakness through software instability. I did test the XFast USB but only saw marginal increases in speed (3-5MB) faster while utilizing the windows copy handler, your mileage may vary depending on your thumb drive. As with several other Fatal1ty boards we have reviewed this one is awesome and well deserving its award of our Awesome Hardware Award due to its ease of use and excellent performance; it truly is an awesome enthusiast class motherboard with full support for just about anything you would want to do.

I have one of these boards with allmost same setup tested here except I have a zotac gtx 460 1gb card. It runs bad company 2 at average 65 fps with stock settings and average 80 fps when over clocked to 4000. mhz. With using a cooler master 212plus cpu cooler, the motherboard allmost never gets over 30c and the cpu average in the low 30’s stock and mid/uper 30’s overclocked steady at 4100mhz. It is a beautifull looking board also and the fatal1ty look on the bios is a welcome releif from the usual blue screen of past bios.
I thought that SATA cables had the right angle plug for the HDD end not the Mobo?
it dosen’t matter which end you put it, same result. most of the time I put it on the hard drive, dosen’t matter
