Matsunichi 500GB USB 3.0 Portable HDD
Matsunichi is one of those Chinese electronics firms that is simultaneously everywhere and nowhere. Everywhere, in that you can find their stuff on Amazon, in Best Buy, and even Wal-Mart; nowhere in that hardly anybody outside the industry recognizes their name. They focus mainly on tablets, media streamers and portable hard drives, and it's this last group we'll be taking a look at today. Their 500GB USB 3.0 hard drive offering, model number DM256-BU-500GB, aims to give you half a terabyte for half a benjamin with minimal fuss. A cursory examination of the major online retailers confirms that they hit their price point, but what sort of performance do you get for your money? Let's put this drive through its paces and find out.

Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD Review
The SSD market is literally saturated with competitors, and with SSDs being one of the "must-have" items these days, it's easier to get overwhelmed with trying to decide which make/model of SSD to go with in your system. Many people initially approach this from a pure cost standpoint, which is has been a common approach when shopping for HDD's in the past. Unfortunately, this approach can be dangerous when applied to shopping for your first/next SSD, as cheaper more than likely guarantees you end up with an inferior drive as it relates to performance, compatibility, and endurance. So what's the safest general approach? Avoiding a lengthy write up, you're safest approach is to look to companies that have been successful in the memory market. Since SSD's leverage memory technology, over spinning platters, it stands to reason that memory companies have initially more experience. With that said, we will be taking a look at Kingston's HyperX 3K 240GB SSD in this review.

Western Digital 4TB Drive Roundup
Are you in the market for some large storage drives? The folks at Western Digital have sent us the latest batch of their 4TB drives, and we here at Techwarelabs thought it might be helpful to do a quick 4TB roundup of three of their top four drives to see how they stack up against each other. The three drives we will be looking at today are the Western Digital Red (WD40EFRX), Se (WD4000F9YZ), and Re (WD4000FYYZ). Although we have reviewed some of these drives individually, we thought it would be good to do a comparison review to see what "real world" difference is between them.

Western Digital Black² Dual Drive Review – Two drives in one!
With prices continually falling, SSD drives are no longer a luxury for the enthusiast. There is no doubt that SSD drives have significant advantages over their spinning brethren, but pricing aside...capacity continues to be the SSD's Achilles' heel. The current defacto solution to this conundrum is to pair your shinny SSD with a large capacity HDD. This pairing allows the user to decide how to handle their data management needs, performance or storage capacity. This works for most PC users, but in cases where design limitations prevent the use of two separate drives, the user is unfortunately forced into decision between one or the other. Will you ever be able to have your cake and eat it too?
