What is iBUYPOWER
In case you haven’t heard, iBUYPOWER is a company that specializes in building custom computers for consumers that want something a little more than the HP at Wal-Mart can offer. You can choose from a large number of preassembled machines, or fully customize what parts you you want in that machine. From the RAM to the Power Supply, to the Video Card, you get what you want, the way you want it. Many computer builders choose not to take this approach either for the love of building their own computer, or for the simple fact that they don’t realize that you can just about buy a full computer cheaper from iBUYPOWER than you could from websites like Newegg or Buy.com, piece by piece.
If they already have all the computer parts, what’s new?
iBUYPOWER has traditionally used parts from other companies such as Antec, Corsair, Thermaltake, etc… to assemble their systems. Not only have they take the rights to use the Thermaltake Level 10 to build their high end computers, they have ventured into the land of making their own computer cases entirely. One of the systems that was shown at CES is a computer that is fully liquid cooled, from the CPU down to the graphics cards. We weren’t allowed to take pictures, but it is epic to say the least. Multiple radiators, several multi-GPU video cards, lots of RAM, a fully digital readout of everything you want to know about your computer on the front and the the ability to take over the world are just some of the features to expect. With a price point that is sure to be over $5,000 for the highest end components, you know that this computer will not be targeted to the every day consumer. This is a computer for the 27 year old that still goes to LAN parties and makes fun of college students with his “mad crazy skills“. Still, everything has to start somewhere, and if this case is as popular as they expect, we are sure to see some of the attributes in a more cost effective manner in the near future.
But What about 3D, and Laptops, and All The Latest Tech
iBUYPOWER has not forgotten about all the latest tech in the laptop world. They have introduced their touch screen gaming laptops. With a push towards 3D, computer gaming i sure to go touch screen, and iBUYPOWER wants to make sure they dont even come close to falling behind. Their latest touch screen gaming laptops feature i7’s, more RAM than you know what to do with, and most importantly, an absolutely awesome touch display. One of the things that made the iPhone soo popular was the simple fact that the touchscreen was the best. No one could match it. This is what iBUYPOWER believes. If they can make the best touch screen from the start, they will win the market. Let me be the first to tell you – in 2 years, you’ll want an iBUYPOWER laptop. Now we just have to hope that they don’t go all Apple-tastic on us and make us buy programs from an “iBUYSTORE”
Venturing into another market, iBUYPOWER has looked into combining an X-Box 360 with a computer. This would be nice to have integrated into your computer, as you would no longer be restricted by the power of the X-Box. You could potentially play X-Box games at PC quality, while sitting at your television. Similar to the idea of a legitimate X-Box in your PC mod, this could have a huge market if they follow through with it. Only time will tell, as they currently have no expected release date for this item.
