Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD Review

Conclusion:

The Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD touts high performance numbers and based on the benchmarks, it delvers on the goods. As this has been one of the fastest SSD drives we have tested here at Techwarelabs, I assumed that the cost would be reflective of it’s performance. To my surprise, the Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD can be had currently for ~$175 dollars on Newegg, where this isn’t the cheapest SSD in the particular capacity bracket, it surely isn’t at the top. At this price, the Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD is a real no brainer if you’re looking for a top performing SSD without the associated cost that generally comes with it. In reviewing this drive, I hit the web to see what the average complaints were on this drive, I expected to see some reports of system compatibility, as that has been the case with other Sandforce based SSD drives, but surprisingly I saw more complaints on the fragile SATA connector than compatibility. Where the connector complaint is something to be mindful of, I wouldn’t consider it a wide spread systemic issue that should cause anyone to avoid the Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD.

All in all, the Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD drive delivered on it’s performance promise, is one of the fastest SSD drives we have tested, and carries a very attractive price. If you’re looking for a new SSD drive, it would be hard to pass on the Kingston HyperX 3K.
