Testing:

Utilizing the Kingston HyperX as the primary operating system drive provides us very accurate benchmarks for what the drives actual usage would be however, it prevents us from running the Write Benchmarks for most synthetic Benchmarks. I am very skeptical of Kingston’s boasted speeds over 500MB/s for both read and writes. The manufacturer performed their testing with ATTO Disk Benchmark 2.41 and PCMARK Vantage HDD Suite lets see how it stacks up.

Atto Results:

atto-bench

Take a close look at those results. For all Sizes larger than 128Mb this drive writes Better than manufacturers listed performance. The Read speeds are virtually spot on with manufacturer specs starting at 512Mb. I ran this test four times. That result reproduces.

Crystal Disk Mark:

Opening this benchmark and taking the results from the default settings will produce some interesting numbers.

cdm-randomn-data

These numbers a remarkably different than that of ATTO. The Default settings for Crystal Disk mark is a random data format that is not compressible by the drives processor, consequently the measurements differ. Take a look at the settings and performance difference when we use the 0 fill and 1 fill methods as opposed to random.
