SAN FRANCISCO – Motorola and AT&T on Tuesday announced three new Google Android-powered smartphones, each with a different look: the Bravo, the Flipout, and the Flipside. While none of them are “super phones,” all three offer a unique twist on the Android experience – one literally.
All three of the new phones have a few things in common. They all use Motorola’s MotoBlur overlay on top of Android 2.1. MotoBlur integrates social-networking updates along with remote location, locking, and wipe options into the Android system using server-side technology that’s hopefully easier on battery life than purely client-side solutions. All three are 3G phones with Wi-Fi, all three have 3-megapixel cameras, and all three use Motorola’s CrystalTalk Plus technology to improve voice call quality. But they all look different, with different screen sizes and different levels of power.
