OtterBox 3500 Series

After the crush proof test, we didn’t have 100’ deep pool to test the depth test, but we submerge the 3500 Series case in a sink of water to test out if the case was still water resistant. Test consisted of placing tissues inside the case and then submerging it completely in water for several hours. The 3500 Series was then removed from the water and the exterior dried off and then opened. The tissue paper inside was still dry!!

Placing dry tissues inside the case to prove to us that after the submerge test that the case is infact water resistant if the tissue are still dry Submeging the 3500 Seriese case in the kitchen sink and placing a weight on top to keep the case under the water we don’t see any extra bubbles.

After several hours of soaking, we pulled the 3500 Series case from the water and tires marks from teh crush test were wiped off the outside with a papertowl. Once the case was dried off we opened the case to find the tissues inside were still dry. The papertowel is shown here to the right of the case.

The OtterBox™ line is one to consider if you looking for a case that will keep the contents dry through extreme conditions. The ruggedness of the cases would lead one to figure the OtterBox™ product line to be expensive, but it simply isn’t. The 3500 series case at the time of this review is going for $28.50, which is very reasonable for a case that will keep your road flares dry and ready for when you really need them or you cell phone from getting wet or sand stuck in it while at the beach.  I have been a fan of OtterBox™ cases for quite some time now being a sailor as I would place my car keys in the OtterBox ™ 1000 to prevent the Viper Alarm fob from getting wet.

Conclusion:

The Otter Box product line is priced very reasonably as at the time of this review the OtterBox 3500 Series case is listed at just $28.49. OtterBox has a lot of different sizes and colors to choose from, so take a look at their product line here. Who knows you might find a case that is just the right size for your precious items that you want to keep protected during your next camping trip or day at the beach or some other activity that you want to be sure your personal items stay dry.
