Microphone:

Definitely a sturdy microphone! Nice and weighty. The sound is good, but not great. I used an Oktava MK-319 condenser microphone in my recording studio as a comparison. The Oktava is more expensive than the entire Podcastudio setup, but I needed to use something. The clarity of the Podcastudio microphone is decent, but really needs a pop filter. The tone is a little flat and will take some fiddling with EQ knobs to find the happy medium between the right high clarity without creating too much hissing and background noise. I had the microphone about 5 feet from my desktop, which is fairly quiet, and the general running noise caused a lot of static. This was reduced with using my laptop, but not entirely. The Microphone cord is very short and thin, so you can’t go too far. They do include a desktop microphone stand that works pretty well.

The microphone does have a feel of good quality, but as stated above you may need to adjust the EQ to find the best setting. The microphone cable and clip also was of good quality and should last you a while if taken care of.

The Microphone was also nice and sturdy. The the MIC stand has a three leg flip out which swing down to come together for storage.

Headphones:

They get the job done, but not much more. They are comfortable and fit snugly on your head as well as block out plenty of the outside noise. The quality of the sound is good and will satisfy and Podcaster. They do give the option of 1/8” and ¼” jacks via an adapter. The mixing board used a ¼” jack. so they provided the adapter to connect. You could easily use these headphones with your MP3 1/8” jack and be satisfied with the overall quality of the headphones.

The headphones are made to be sturdy, but when it comes to using headphones while using a mixing board, hold just one speaker to my ear is desired, the HPM1000 don’t allow this too easily. The headphone cushions are comfortable for long term use. Also the headband is also padded for additional comfort.
