Conclusion:
The Sapphire HD 7770 FleX Edition is a video card that can bring a lot to the table, assuming you have realistic expectations. This is an entry level video card that is currently available on Amazon for $119.99. As an entry level card, it’s 1080P gaming performance is very respectable, being able to pump out playable FPS at max/ultra settings. Through its FleX support, it can accommodate multiple displays right out of the box, but expect gaming at lower resolutions and/or lower settings. I think this is where the HD 7770 FleX will get a lot of flack because it will allow you to setup multiple monitors, but lacks the horsepower to really deliver a pleasant experience.
It runs pretty cool under load, and is very quiet. So, if you’re looking for a cost sensitive video card that has mutli-display functionality, this is a great card for the price. Given the price/performance, this would make a great candidate for a Crossfire setup.
Pros:
- Allows for Eyefinity without special monitors or expensive adapters.
- Solid performance in single 1080P gaming.
- Stays quiet even at full load.
- Cost attractive, even for Crossfire setups
Cons:
- Single card Eyefinity gaming performance is underwhelming.
