The 7950 FleX features the same cooler as Sapphire’s recent 78xx and 79xx series cards, the Dual-X, with two fans blowing down through the copper pipe heatsink and exhausting some outside but most back into the case.

The overall size and shape of the FleX is the same as Sapphire’s other 7950s. The Dual-X cooler utilizes five heatpipes and two fans to quickly remove heat from the GPU.

Here is where the FleX edition differs from the standard 7950. The standard card comes with one Dual-Link DVI, one HDMI, and two Mini-DisplayPorts. With the FleX you get that extra magical DVI port (though it is only single-link) that lets you run one extra DVI monitor.

One possible drawback to this extra port though is that it takes up about half of the rear exhaust. This means that you may be dumping more hot air into your case than with a standard card.

Packaging

The 7950 FleX’s packaging is pretty much standard. You get your glossy box with a women dressed in a military outfit plastered on the front, along with some key features such as the 3GB of memory and the fact that the card is overclocked. On the back is a list of features and awards (see if you can spot ours).

Included along with the card itself is a DVI-to-VGA, HDMI-to-DVI, and Mini-DisplayPort-to-DisplayPort adapters, Crossfire bridge, Molex-to-PCIe cables, and a 6 foot HDMI cable. Sapphire has pretty much covered every base with this accessory package.
