Metro 2033 was by far the most intensive game in our lineup with the single monitor on achieving an average fps of 29 fps. While this may seem playable, there were multiple dips and even entire sections that dropped well below 20 fps with a minimum of only 8.8 fps. The two monitor setup ended with an average of only 19.3 and a minimum of 6.58. In Eyefinity, the game was unplayable with an average fps of 14.47 and a minimum of 5.5.
Aliens vs. Predator:
AvP is a bit older and less popular as a benchmarking game but does utilize DirectX 11 and can still give us valuable information on the performance of our card.
The test was run with all settings maxed with 4xAA and 16xAF.

Because Aliens vs Predator give it’s benchmark results in a text document, they are displayed in this graph. With only one monitor, AvP still caused some lag with the 6950 achieving only 37.8 fps on average. With two monitors that number dropped all the way down to 24.6. At 5760 x 1080 the single card only managed an 18.8 fps average with multiple drops into the single digits.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat:
Stalker Call of Pripyat is the most recent addition to the Stalker series, coming out in early 2010. Call of Pripyat brings DX11 to the table as well as a new benchmark that runs through an array of scenes to thoroughly test the power of the graphics card.
The test was run at the Ultra preset with DX11.

With only one monitor the Sapphire 6950 breezed through the benchmark scoring averages of about 100 fps in three of the benches and 50 fps in the last. Even with the dual monitor setup the 6950 wouldn’t slow down, pulling about 60 fps for the first three but only 29 for the last. The 6950 was even able to stay playable in Eyefinity, averaging around 40 fps for the first three runs but only 20.4 for the last.
