Conclusion:
Thermaltake set out to create a budget friendly mechanical key gaming keyboard with the POSEIDON illuminated keyboard, and at MSRP of $89.99 I think they puled it off. Taking that further, this particular model can be had for $10-$20 cheaper than MSRP, depending on what online etailer you purchase it from, and it becomes even more of a no-brainer. If you don’t have a need for macro’s or add-on device capability (USB/audio), this illuminated gaming keyboard delivers everything else a scrutinizing gamer could ask for. The solid construction, layout, and illumination are so well done, that you really can’t go wrong giving the POSEIDON illuminated keyboard a serious look if you’re in the market for a budget friendly gaming keyboard.
Pro’s:
- Extremely well-constructed
- Precise response
- Bright backlighting
- Good weight to offset keyboard drift
- Windows key toggle
Con’s:
- Only a single character backlit on all keys, leaving keys with multiple characters un-lit
- No macro functionality
