This result of the Kingston 64GB SSDnow V+ series connected directly to the motherboard This photo was taken while the benchmark above with the TURBOHDD software was installed and enabled.

We then connected the SSD directly to the motherboard to compare results. The results were very similar with the direct connection winning. USB 3.0+ allows for speeds that are very closet to the speeds you would get with an internal drive. What you don’t with USB 3.0 that you get with a direct SATA connection is simultaneous reads/writes. The speed displayed in the photo above on the front of the TransImp was taken during the software enabled run. The CrystalDiskMark results with the average speed of each result

Conclusion

The TransImp X3 PLUS External 3.5” Hard Drive enclosure from MUKii is a new face in the well established market of drive enclosures. The digital readout on the front of the enclosure is a welcomed feature. Since data transfer speeds vary due to data file sizes the display will keep you informed as to how the transferring doing. The low point with this enclosure is the need for software to be installed (though small without need for a reboot) in order to get the best transfer speeds. Other than that, the TransImp X3 PLUS is a very desirable enclosure in today’s environment of large file and data volumes of terabytes which would take hours to transfer over USB 2.0 or less.
