Zotac GeForce 560Ti OC Gaming Video Card

Benchmarking test rig:

Key specs

Note that the Zotac version of the GeForce 560Ti is labeled as an overclocked model below I have separated the stock reference model with the changes made by Zotac.

Card  model STOCK – Reference
ZT-50404-10M
Interface PCI Express 2.0
PCI Express 2.0
Core clock
822MHz 850MHz (3.3%oc)
Onboard memory
1024MB GDDR5
1024MB GDDR5
Memory clock
4008MHz 4010MHz(.001% oc)
Stream processors 384 384
Shader clock 1644MHz 1700MHz (3.3% oc)

As you can see there is a very minor overclock over the stock reference design fortunately you are given a tool with which you can overclock this card.

firestorm-tool-default

With this tool you can set easily changeable profiles for various overclocking needs. I will note that the temperature is oddly high for idle ( about 52 Celsius or 125 Fahrenheit ) I found the reason for this is the packaged utility forced the fan speed to be set to 40% Updating to the most recent version from Zotac’s website allowed me to modify the fan speed alternatively for Nvidia cards you can use Ntune from Nvidia. Increasing the fan speed to about 75% brought the noise level up to around 40dB.

For point of reference

  • Whisper is about 30dB
  • Normal conversation 3-5′ is about 60-70dB
  • City traffic from inside a car is about 85dB
3dmark-vantage 3d mark vantage is a 3d benchmark suite designed to test DirectX 10 performance in both games and applications. for this test I ran only the GPU tests. To put this card in perspective  a ATI 4890 oc comes it at around 11000

The GTX 560 is fast.

  1. DO NOT get one of these unless your PC has more cooling than a freezer!
It’s the hottest running card I’ve ever used and on any AAA game title it hits 100c (I really wonder if it could boil water?), the fan only goes up to 75% speed (hard lock) and it crashes most games due to heat issues after a while of playing, and that is with it’s own fan & four (4) cases fans blowing around it.
I’d hate to see the heat from it if you over clocked it!!!
Was a great price, and it’s nice & powerful, but the heat kills it everytime! 🙁

  2. Good card, great price. Nice combo!
