Far Cry 2 (Ranch Small Benchmark)

Farcry 2

Far Cry 2 is a first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft.

Ubisoft has marketed Far Cry 2 as the true sequel to Far Cry, though the sequel has very few noticeable similarities to the original game. Instead, it features completely new characters and setting, as well as a new style of game play that allows the player greater freedom to explore different African landscapes such as deserts, jungles, and savannas. The game takes place in a fictional modern-day Central African nation in a state of anarchy and civil war. The player takes control of a mercenary on a lengthy journey to locate and assassinate “The Jackal,” a notorious arms dealer. The game play of Far Cry 2 more closely resembles that of Grand Theft Auto rather than that of the original Far Cry.

The Calibre did stay just ahead of the ATI 4870 in the 1680×1050 8x AA X10 setting, but just barely. The rest of the benchmarks the Calibre 9800 GTX+ was just on the heals of the ATI 4870 by a FPS or two. Though I wouldn’t make my decision between Calibre 9800 GTX+ and a ATI 4870 on these results alone as this is just one game though a very good game.

Call Of Duty

Call Of Duty 4

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It is the fourth installment of the Call of Duty video game series, but the game now breaks away from the World War II setting of previous games and is instead set in modern times. The story is centered around a fictional near-future conflict involving the United States, the United Kingdom, and Russia, who are fighting against Russian ultra nationalists in civil war torn Russia, and rebels that have staged a government overthrow in a small Middle Eastern country.

The results of the Call Of Duty benchmark is pretty impressive though the 9800GTX+ did not score higher FPS than the ATI 4870. The FPS for the 9800 GTX+ are still high, so playing Call of Duty 4 will be very smooth so playing against someone who is getting more FPS won’t make much of a difference. The FPS of 53 it will really boil down to the gamers skills latency to the host.

Left 4 Dead

Left 4 Dead

Left 4 Dead is a co-operative, survival horror, first-person shooter video game. It was developed by Turtle Rock Studios, which was purchased by the Valve Corporation part-way into development. The game uses the Source engine, and is available for Windows and the Xbox 360.

The game pits four Survivors of an apocalyptic pandemic against hordes of aggressive infected. There are three game modes: a single player mode in which allied characters are controlled by AI; a four-player, co-op Campaign mode; and an eight-player Versus mode. In all modes, an AI, dubbed “The Director”, controls level pacing and item spawns, in an attempt to create a dynamic experience and increase replay value.

This is the most recently released game of all the games we have benched marked thus far. This graphics engine works pretty well with the Calibre 9800 GTX+ as the FPS were higher than the 4870. Also with the the lowest FPS being as high as 61FPS the game play is very smooth. The areas of the game which has large areas and lots of detail the Calibre 9800GTX+ is able to render all of it at 61 FPS without any hesitation, ultimately giving the gamer a great gaming experience.
