Thermaltake Frio CPU Cooler

Conclusion:

I was very impressed with the cooling capabilities of the Frio. Coming in right under $60 this is a very affordable solution for anyone who is looking for an overclocking cooler. While the size does offer great heat dissipation capabilities, this is not a cooler for the space conscientious. The red spacers touch the side of a standard mid tower case, and with both fans installed I would not be able to utilize all the dimms on my motherboard. I feel these are minor drawbacks for the cooling benefit received, I was able to stably overclock the processor to 3.59 ghz with both fans at full ,and it was well under 80 Celsius.

The performance enthusiasts among us demand the best and the Thermaltake Frio delivers no nonsense performance at a reasonable price. Given the performance numbers we saw on our Intel i5 rig and the fact that this cooler works equally well with both the latest AMD and Intel CPU’s  we highly recommended you check out this cooler.

PROS:

  • Awesome cooling performance
  • Multiple platform compatibility
  • Reasonable Price
  • Dual VR Fan capability
  • Includes Two 120mm fans

CONS

  • Potential motherboard issue with extended height ram
