PTZ
Preset Positions
As I have mentioned before, the m3204 does not have a physical PTZ feature. Instead the interface has provided me with a digital one. The range of movements is somewhat limited as well. There are approximately 50 to 100 pixels wiggle room on each side of the camera from the center screen.

Guard Tour
Guard tour is a sort of extension of the PTZ features where the user can set specific location to which the camera should be pointed at and the amount of time that the camera spends looking at those locations. While the option does exist in the digital version of the PTZ, again it is somewhat limited by the fixed position of the camera.

Events
AXIS m3204 has the ability to detect different types of events. Some of the events can be external such as motion detection and camera tampering, while others can be internal such as timers and other scheduled events. When an event is triggered, the cameras act in accord with instructions set by the user. These instructions include Save Stream, Send Email Notification, Send HTTP notification, send TC notification, Go to PTZ preset, or Run Guard tour. The m3204 also lets the user select at which times should the camera be sensitive to a particular event. It is also important to know that certain actions such as stream recording based on motion detection require additional software as well as a separate computer.

Not quite a cheap camera! Another alternative is VIVOTEK FD8134!
Great shots on the inside of the camera. Thanks for sharing. We sell this camera and more on our site. Check out our Axis Camera Superstore
The best part about this camera is that it is super affordable considering how powerful it is. Small business looking for futureproof surveillance should turn to the new Axis M Series. Plus, it comes in black — How sleek!
