Image Quality
Image quality of the camera was exceptional. As you can see from the video below, the there is enough detail to identify the words in the monitor as well l as the details of the items that were present on top of my desk. These details were visible with the camera located approximately 4 feet above my head. Refer to the sample below for further details.
Summary and Conclusion:
Overall the AXIS m3204 performed extremely well. For a relatively low price of $499 it is affordable enough to be placed in any small business that is need of security cameras without breaking the wallet. Some of the features that were missing from the camera were the IR Night Vision and PTZ, though for the reduced price it is understandable. The features that the camera does come with, however, definitely outweigh the features that are missing. The camera comes with an extensive software package that will be enough for any advanced user without intruding into the basic settings for the no so network savvy users. AXIS also knows that people see a camera and try to disable it. If that is something that concerns you, you can purchase the Vandal Resistant model of the camera for a mere $539. For the extra $40, it’s an added level of security to your security system, which is always good.
One of the great things about the camera is that the settings were designed to work as soon as the camera was plugged in. There was no need for detailed installation instructions or IP/Port assignments. The settings could then be altered by advanced user to fit their specific needs.
