A Closer Look (Exterior):
An impressive matte black finish on every little part of the case and blue or red lighting on fans gives the case an impressive and imposing look. With a huge 230mm fans on the size with clear plastic glass finish is off Solano’s bold design.
Front panel is very plain design, it doesn’t have a door, or any cool shapes. Just an Azza’s logo. It’s up for the users preference but these kind of designs on cases will significantly increase the cost.
Some don’t particularly like front panel doors. Usually, the reason being is after a while the door becomes an annoyance. Especially if you have to access front panel frequently for your disk drives. On the other hand doors overcompensate this annoyance with several upsides. First, you get protection from potential mistakes in chassis design where you have discoloration between your disk drives and the front panel view. Second, for rare occasions you will be protected from shrapnel in case of a busted disk. Now, that is something I do concern myself with because I’ve had 2 busted CD’s that exploded inside disk drive and chunks actually have hit me in the ear. It wasn’t any serious injury but I’d definitely prefer not getting hit at all. However, I also got hit twice by lightning so it might be my luck. So with all things considered it is still up to the buyers preference.
One 230mm, 24 decibel fan on the side panel for intake and one on top panel for outtake will take care of air flow very well. Creating very little noise you cannot expect them to be fast and they aren’t. I couldn’t find a specifications for fan RPM.
The back panel includes holes for liquid cooling. This case is well suited for those of you who have stand alone liquid cooling systems.
The top panel includes a standard set of ports. USB x3, e-SATA, Audio, Power and Reset buttons. One thing to note here is reset button. You cannot press the button with your finger because it is very small. You have to use something thin enough to get to it. Upside of this is that you will not accidentally press it, than again you can always accidentally press Power button which is likely to be set to “Sleep Mode” on single press. It is users preference and really has no real swing towards negative or positive. However no screen for the panel means it is likely to collect dust.
