Summary and Conclusion:

Crucial has put together everything they have learned from both their performance Ballistix line that is catered towards enthusiasts as well as what they have learned from their consumer budget line to bring about a delicious combo that marries performance and size with price. I really like the fact that while testing the ram it is near impossible to tell the difference between the Ballistix sport and higher end 1600 ram. The biggest improvement that crucial could make would be to lower the ram timings 10-10-10-28 is rather high. If you wanted a better set of ram you would be better off picking up 2 kits of Crucial ballistix 12800 4kit obviously the cost is also much greater . On boards that support AMD Phenom processors you can choose to set the ram slots in ganged mode which would assign a ram stick to every core. I chose to give Crucials Ballistix sport 1600 kit an approved hardware award for the performance to price ratio.
