Summary & Conclusion
The Ring Mouse by Genius has made me reconsider my stand on wireless peripheral devices. The battery life is amazing. The carrying case is handy for people like me prone to leaving the one thing I need in a set behind and it is ridiculously easy to use. I like how well this device functioned with simply mouse usage and when working with presentations. I did not like the handling of multimedia because it did not feel different enough from the standard mouse interface for me.
Also, with some tweaking you could probably use this to play some computer games, although dragging anything with this device was rather tricky to accomplish. Not impossible, but you would need to practice at it. I managed to play Solitaire just fine, but StarCraft 2 was a challenge.
While it is not uncomfortable to both use the Ring Mouse and type on a keyboard it is not the ideal setup since you need a thumb to use the mouse feature. Again, not insurmountable, but it seems counter-intuitive.
Overall, this device is a must-have for a business-person on the go and worth picking up for the novelty and convenience for anyone else.
