SiSoft Sandra

SiSoft Sandra benchmarking suite uses a series of tests which provide raw data. It leaves the evaluating part of the task to the end user while providing examples of comparable systems from its libraries. Firstly I chose to do the latency test. This benchmark evaluates the latency in the retrieval of information across different sizes of data. Here the Corsair Dominator performed the best compared to examples listed with a latency of 64 ns below.

The Cache and Memory evaluation part of SiSoft Sandra. In this test, SiSoft tests for the maximum amount of bandwidth allowed by the processor. Interestingly enough, the Core i7 system came in second only to another Core i7 system with the same processor. This can only mean that either the motherboard or the power supply can be responsible for the reduced throughput of 52 GB/s compared 57 Gb/s in the higher system.

sisoft_cachememory_1600The last test in the SiSoft Sandra suite that I ran was the memory bandwidth test. Corsair Dominator came in second with 25.35 GB/s when compared to a PC – 14400 3 GB kit.
