Summary and Conclusion:
The ATI HD 5550 is a pretty solid card it has quite cooling coupled with low power consumption this card is ideal for the budget minded gamer who wants to try gaming on two or more monitors but doesn’t want to pay a lot for both a beefy power supply and graphics card. The card is a <$100 that delivers great performance for the price. I was honestly amazed at how well it played Left 4 dead 2 at 3360X1050 this resolution is huge spanning two monitors. Benchmarking Dirt 2 was also a game that surprised me at how well it worked on this card, while the numbers were low the actual performance was enjoyable… and racing using two screens is pretty awesome I would imagine 3 to be even greater. For this price level the only improvement I could really ask for would be two DVI ports and an HDMI instead of having DVI, HDMI, and Display port while this isn’t an issue if you get a display port to DVI dongle with the card it is not something most people have lying around should you happen to get a card without one. If you are looking for more multi-monitor goodness or maybe better performance in Battlefield Bad company 2 you would do well to look at the 5570 or 5770 which offers GDDR5 as well and offers better performance along with a higher price bracket, hopefully we will have a review of the 5570 and 5770 for you in the near future. I am giving the ATI HD 5550 an approved hardware award for its performance in both Left 4 Dead 2 as well as Dirt 2 multi-monitor gaming is not something you would expect of a card in this price range and while its not perfect its nice to see these typically high end features coming to the budget gamers.

So awesome to search out someone with a few initial ideas on it subject. realy thanks just for starting it up. this page is something that is helpful on the internet, somebody with a little inspiration. helpful job for providing something new to the net!
Too bad that you didn’t included a similar graphics card from NVIDIA (GT220 or so) or an old ATI (HD4650/ HD4550?).
I intend to add to this post… unfortunately at the time of this review I did not have one that I could test with on the same rig.
Hmm, maybe you can arrange something for the next time/review.
btw, maybe it’s nice to note that the cooler is a modified L2 Pro from Arctic Cooling.
I have the same one om my HD4670 and it indeed does a decent job. 🙂
