Benchmark Testing and Analysis:
Post Hard Disk Drive Installation
Actually testing the data transfer rates is a rather straightforward process involving moving files of varying sizes back and forth from a computer to the drives stored in the enclosure. I want to mention at this point that the power cable was one of decent length and would work well with virtually any desk set-up in either a professional or personal office. I tested all three settings offered by this enclosure to see what exactly the impact on the data transfer rate would be and got some positive results. For the testing I used two benchmark software applications: Crystal Disk Mark and HDTach.

As you can see by looking between the two benchmarks that the data transfer rates to the hard disks stored in this enclosure are decent with a better than 90 MB/s read when set to Fast and a none-too-shabby 30 MB/s when set to either of the other settings. It is interesting to note that the Fast setting also has some stability issues with the smaller file sizes and noticeably improves with the larger files.
