Front panel is dark black with a blue lights seeping from under the ventilation dashboard. The look is that of sliced hexagon and octagon shapes that are placed all around the case to create an impression of an armored look. The door is quite heavy but easy to open and remove. The nice thing about this design is that the door only covers the drive bays, which one of them is the 3.5″ slot, and not the power button or the extension ports. If you ever owned a case with a power button underneath the door you know you simply end up either removing the door completely or having it open 24/7.

The extension ports panel contain the standard array of ports: e-SATA, USB 2.0, Audio in/out, and of course LED for HDD and Power.

Top panel contains extra extension ports, another nice edition especially for people, like myself, who have their desktop placed lower to the ground. Makes it easier to plug in the USB drives and e-SATA drives can be securely placed right on top of the computer close to the plug itself.

Back panel has a standard collection of openings and slots including 7 expansions slot, PSU opening on the bottom, fan top right and extra air vent to the right of the expansion slots. Interesting little feature that Thermaltake added on this Armor A90 is a keyboard/mouse protection. It’s a small bracket on the back panel which can be screw open/shut from the back. Feeding your mouse or keyboard wire through this lock then screwing it back shut will require an imaginary thief to open up the side panel and then the bracket itself before they get close to making a successful “mouse vanish.” Thermaltake claims that it is made for LAN parties, but not having been to an open, public LAN party I can’t say much on how feasible such a theft can be, but I imagine at least a couple of red flags going off in the process. This begs another question, does this happen so much that it got passed along to Thermaltake enough times to make a specific feature? In any case, it only adds to Armor A90’s pros, takes nothing away.

Top overview

Following the design the left side panel is more of the same sliced hexagon/octagon shapes with a triangular window in the middle. Just to the bottom left of the window is a place to hold an optional 120mm VGA fan. Through tap you can take a peek at the 200mm exhaust fan which has bright blue LED’s ones powered on.
